Question

With all the complaints about ITV's cover of the GP's (mine included!) it seems that digital is the way to go.

So, leaving aside the cost of switching to sky (got Ntl at the mo-came with the flat) can someone confirm how much it costs to view the digital f1 coverage?

Cheers

D

£12 per race...That's all weekend. i.e Fri, Sat & Sun coverage.

Doesn't seem like a bad deal!

Got right bollocking from the better half watching it all.

Very good coverage and as far as I am concerned worth the money.

All the best

I swore I wouldn't pay the £12

But I'm £36 pound down now (Just hoping they will do a whole season package like the Premiership)

Couldn't go back to ITV now (except for Martin Brundle)

I wonder why ITV-Digital dont offer it as a pay package. I have the terestrial Digital box (i have had it from day one) as i cant have a satelite in my place.

The way things are going i am going to lose my eurosport and sky sports1&3 coverage soon too.

I used the F1 digital coverage for the first time this weekend, and there is no comparison with ITV. I have seen the light, and as throughly loathsome as I find it, Rupert Murdoch has got it right.

You get all the timed sessions over the weekend, with Ben Edwards and John Watson providing the commentary. On the Sunday for the race there was also seperate commmentary from Matthew Lorenzo, Perry McCarthy and Damon Hill. So you can choose which commentery you wanted to listen to, and that's before you choose which camera you want to be viewing through. For the start on Sunday I watched the start and first four corners from the on-board camera on Schumacher's Ferrari, and then after the incident with Montoya, switched to the highlights channel to see the replay.

As you can guess I'm a fan of the service, for less than the cost of attending the British GP this year, you get a whole season's coverage on F1 digital. If you call yourself a F1 fan and can understand what is going on without inane commentary, this is for you. Just think no James Allen and the two muppets in the pit lane from ITV. Oh Oh that reminds me too, if you really want to see what is going on in the pit lane, the F1 Digital camera's are allowed to show pretty much everything from inside the garage, inside the cars, under the engine covers all in far greater detail than I ever imagined.

Mind you that does sound like extreemly good coverage... What we got at the weekend was criminal we didn't even see what happened at the first courner till mid race replays!??! wtf were the producers playing at?

However I can't wait for the next round of MotoGP and WSuperBikes

Dizzy

Did you also notice they missed the action at the front in the malaysian GP also, funnily enough in exactly the same manner - i.e. the camera points at the first corner and doesn't move until all the cars have gone past. Hmmmm, coincedently theres pay per view available this season.

Well, I tried F1 digital+ at the weekend 'cos I was getting cheesed off with the ITV presentation. I was not amused to find that the Interactive coverage wasn't working on Good Friday.
I phoned Sky Technical and was told there was a technical fault and they were trying to sort it. Still not sorted by race day practice, so I ring them again, still being looked at.....
Race time arrives and still no Interactive service.

I will not be amused if I am billed for £12

Question

Chers Nevr, looks promising.

Did you have to chase them for it, or was it just automatic?

I did give them my name and address when I first complained.
