(obviously not talking about the scum who crashed the planes into the twin towers)

Apparently a plan for permission to build an Islamic Gay and Lesbian Centre right next door to the mosque has been filed. Seems fair enough to me.

Obama's popularity has absolutely nose-dived already, and this decision is just going to make matters worse for him.
Ok you can argue Amercia is a free country, so there's no real reason why this mosque should not be built, but on the other hand the vast majority of American citizens are against it, so their views should be taken into account here.
It also highlights the problem of being a free and tolerant country - that allows intolerant groups to take root.
Relgion has no real place in a modern society (other than its past) - it's an out-dated way of thinking, and it's only going to lead to problems down the line.

Where do you get the fact ' the vast majority of Americans are against it' from??

So if you don't agree with the muslim viewpoint, then it's automatically muslim-bashing is it?! It's people like you who will lead to to the downfall of this country. You think you speak for the majority, but you speak for the PC police minority.

"70% of Americans opposed the mosque plan, while just 29% approved"

As for 'loony left', that's just a retarded comment from someone so far down the food chain they cannot begin to understand complex issues and have to reach for dumbass slogans to cover up for a fundamental lack of knowledge or insight

Having a good friend who has recently had a baby who has been found to have learning difficulties, I find your use of the term 'retarded' quite offensive. Nevertheless I'm sure you saw the article including the opinion poll results which suggest the vast majority of American's oppose the mosque-plan, which you appeared to be disputing in your earlier post.

Well I'm pretty sure you're wrong, but I don't feel the need to hunt for evidence to correct you. It's interesting that you obviously automatically class a difference of opinion as 'an attack' however.
