people say this every year but its always been like this. I used to work in the gift trade and it worked by selling last years christmas leftovers/clearance/crap at the end of August and the new stuff would be delivered 1st September.

It dilutes this special festive season making an unnecessarily long build up. I tend to ignore anything like this until December.
Best have the TV remote handy to switch over from the upcoming adverts!

I'm shocked that every year, people get surprised by this. It is nothing new, but it is ridiculous, I do agree.
People think this ruins the festive period, try working in a shop and by he time Christmas comes, you are totally sick of it. Especially when they decide to play Christmas songs constantly from the beginning of bloody November.
What has shocked me this year is we have no Chrismas sock in at all yet. This is weird as usually the beginning of those layouts going on is in June.
I think they may have seen sense for once.

I personally think it is beyond the pale and as I mentioned is down to the greed which seems to be taking over from decent bahaviour these days.
