So how bad/good is the economy at the moment? I've probably got to wait another month for my car because of high demand (ordered 3 months ago) but I thought every one was poor in these troubled times?

Seems like the German motor industry is busy. I ordered my new Audi beginning of July and delivery round a bout Christmas!

How much do you have to earn to afford a brand new car?
I know some people must make a lot of sacrafices to have one!
I earn about the average wage and I paid £7k for my 7 year old car. I can't imagine how people like me can afford new ones!

Looking on the VW site you can buy a Fox for £7k - not exactly out of reach for the working man.

I'm really excited as it's being delivered to the house, and it's my first brand new car!
Technically it's not mine though, it will be owned by Zuric.

Hmmm, an engine that's never been stressed and will probably blow as soon as it is, and with the engine rarely getting up to operating temperature, condensation in the engine mixes with the oil and fuel to create acid which erodes the shells. Plus the stop/start nature of low mileage cars will ensure the clutch is on its way out and the engine has spent its whole life doing the most stressful thing instead of idling along in top on a straight, flat motorway, fully up to temp. I had a mate buy a 3yr old car once that had only done 3.5k from an old chap. The engine self-destructed 3 months later.

Nice
Hope your seat base fabric doesn't come apart, or the height adjuster break, or the airbag light keep coming on due to dodgy wiring in the seat, or the rear suspension knock, or the CEL light keep coming on, or the autochanger stops working, or the radio aeriel fail, or........
Apart from that, we like our Octy. Much more reliable than our other Skoda.
