Id welcome your reasoning on why the products are ****. The first 3 look excellent
I think you meant to say clever products backed by clever marketing.

I fancy an iPod touch. Does it do most of what an iPhone does? I have a works phone and therefore too tight to contract into another mobile so if the touch allows web access for those one handed browsing moments in hotels, then it's a deal

It's a secret Les. But I do have a lovely Mac Mini for sale, with the super snazy wireless keyboard and magic mouse. Six months old, never used, keyboard still wrapped!

Well it was never going to be a big event for moi. Ipods, yes very nice but my iphone 4 does all that
Apple TV, already have one and a mac mini so covered there , cheers steve
Now IOS4.1 and 4.2 look a lot more interesting and free is not bad.
Still waiting to see what iwork 10 and ilife 10 may hold in stock for us.
All in al, this next few months means I wont be shelling out on any new apple shiny goods so that is a good thing.
Got the magic trackpad the other day, works like a dream

Ignoring the trolls (Mods, care to actually pull your fingers out and do something?)
A new shuffle, hmm, that did surprise me, thought the new nano would finally do away with it, personally I think the shuffle is rather useless. New nano is interesting, but nothing overly special.
New Touch, well, obviously made it a bit quicker and added few things, but again, nothing earth shattering.
iOS 4.x, interesting from a dev perspective, at least we have an official date for 4.1's release (next wednesday) and I've got a 3G which I've updated for testing, so we'll see if it does make the experience quicker but I'm doubtful. 4.2 will bring everything 4.x has to the iPad. No mention, unless I missed it, of 4.2 being just for iPad, or wether it'll be a universal update. It would be nice to have a single OS version unified across the platforms.
ATV, well, like others, I have an original ATV, modified to allow third party apps and there isn't much the new one can do that I cannot already, so unless they are being chucked about, I won't be getting a new one. Form factor is rather good though. Curious to know capacity it actually is and wether it's possible to hack and add, for example, XBMC on it.
Renting movies does not appeal to me. If I want a movie then I'll typically want it permanently. Again, a hack could allow you to grab the stream and store it somewhere.

I was expecting iOS on the Apple TV so a little disappointed. On the other hand the new one is so small I can travel with it, for $99 I might give it a go.
Marcus, I'm pretty sure I heard that all devices would get 4.2, but could be wrong, it would be the sensible move.
The iPod Touch is now a seriously nice piece of kit, HD video recording, huge storage and that screen for that money! Could shake up the action camera market with a good mount. Go-Pro's cost more and do a lot less. Did it get GPS as well?
