Hi,
got a job interview tomorrow and I've never needed to before but for this position - I have a 'scoresheet' with things they will ask about together with weightings for how important each aspect is to the job.
I naturally want to tick all the right boxes so....
Can I make notes on typical answers etc or even one word pointers and take these in with me? I normally take in a folder with my CV etc and I suppose I'd also take in a piece of paper with the notes in there too??
What do you think? Has anybody done this?
Naturally I won't read things off the page but they will serve as pointers so I remember that I need to mention key things?
please let me know your thoughts
If it helps - it's a network officer position at a local council

Better for your CV to act as a prompt for good stuff that you've done (too late for this one perhaps). As an interviewer myself, someone bringing in notes would seem a tad strange ...

You should probably have a copy of your CV with you but should not refer to it during the interview. Some employers like to check that you weren't bullsh*tting when you wrote it so try to memorise everything that was on it beforehand and be prepared to answer questions.
If you have some specific questions you wanted to ask the employer then having some stuff written down for that is probably okay. I know I sometimes get a bit flustered and then when the interview is over remember all the stuff I wanted to ask so some prompts might help. Keep it relevant though, e.g. asking what size team you could be responsible for and what your day to day obligations would be to them, not does everyone who works there go down the pub on Fridays.

An interviewer usually wants to know your own reaction to a question without any form of notes or briefing. Taking notes in with you will doubtless affect his assessment.
