Thumbs down Royal Mail. Grrrrrrr!

Had one of those cards come throuogh the post on Thursday saying a parcel which was too big for the letterbox was being held at main Post Office and could be collected after 48hrs..
So off I went today, parked outside and left the wife waiting in the car - it's pay-and-display everywhere near Post Office and I don't like paying for min 1hr.

I was kept waiting for ages whilst other customers were arriving, collecting parcels, and leaving..
Turns out they could not find mine and it is something I needed to take with me to Norway on Monday.
So I suggested that I leave my phone number so when they find it, they can call me and arrange a convenient time to bring it to me.. They didn't sound too happy with this even though I said that I really didn't want to make another journey. I was rather hoping for a call later today but heard nothing.

I guess my parcel had not been filed and is somewhere else..
Bloody annoying though as the post does not come until late morning and I'll be gone by the time it does on Monday so I expect another card on the mat when I return.
I wish they would give to a neighbour and can't understand why they only choose to do so sometimes.

Nick

Put a note on the door to leave it somewhere, or leave it next door.

I`m doing Parcel Force for the Christmas rush, and I would rather leave it with someone, or somewhere the customer wants so they get it. Nothing worse than taking it home, as its one extra for the next day.

Thanks for advice. I'll leave note as a couple of my neighbours always seem to be around.

I imagine the postman has to be careful about where he leaves it unless you give specific instructions.
