Default short term memory

Now my short term memory isnt always the best but I'm starting to get worried now as I cannot get into my phone as I dont remember the pin neither can I pay my tab from last night yet as I cant remember the pin on my card either!

I wouldnt usually worry about this but they're both the same and neither have changed in the last 5 years.

Ok, so with the limited resources of the internet what options do I have open to me for finding out my pin number?

Were you drinking? If so, give it until this afternoon to sort your head out. Also, there are memory training exercises, google them.

If you have a tab 'at the bar', then the chances are you have toasted you brain cells whilst supping away, the pin will return without putting much thought into it, as if you have had the pin for 5 years then this will be stored upstairs and come back to you when you least expect it. Information know for 5yrs is not short term memory loss.

When you do recall the pin, why not change them to soemthing you easily will remember such as your some of your mobile phone number, or your partner/siblings DOB?

HTH
Rob

PS, When I go out on the Tiles, I also suffer some memory loss from the night before...

yeah will do.

My mum had an awful short term memory, it was almost laughable, however I believe I have inherited it.

Its much worse after having a drink the night before, more noticeable. I recently spent 9 weeks not drinking and although the memory wasnt perfect it was much better.

Things like pin numbers are remembered through patterns, same a phone numbers .. you create almost like a tune in your head, or a pattern as you type.

If you have a drink, or someone breaks your line of thought you can very easily forget things ..

I wouldn't worry about it, you'll have forgotten in ten minutes anyway

Wink

This is why all my PIN's are set to 1234

And all my passwords are 8 asterisks - they even show up on screen when you type them in.

the options are fairly obvious
1) stand at the cashpoint and attempt to get some cash, start from pin 1111, working your way to 9999.
2) tell your bank you forgot your pin and they'll send you a new one in the post.
