It's a Boy!
Well it's official! I'm going to be a Dad!
We went for our 2nd scan on Friday and just had to know when the Dr asked 'Do you want to know the flavour??'
So, May 10th 2011 should be an exciting day!

I hear what you are saying SJ, I will be taking lots extra 'lay-ins' whilst I still can!
Thanks for all the kind messages.
Just got to find me a family car for 6k now, as my crappy 3 door Almera work hack just won't cut it! Neither will Maries' 107!

The 2nd scan was private so the infomation was a lot mroe free flowing than the NHS scan that we had a week previous. I'm not knocking the NHS scan at all. It was very thorough. But as warned by our mid-wife, they don't involve you, they just let tell you everything when they have finished.

Well done Sir, exciting news. And for the good lady.
Like Alcazar our hospital (George's, Tooting) wouldn't tell us sex and wouldn't even let us have a scan photo!

Congratulations!
I had a private scan too as the nhs in Walsall won't tell you the sex, they are allowed to say, 'im my opinion'. Which was pretty accurate while she mooned us from behind!

It was supposed to be £10 for 4 pics from the NHS, but they didn't have any change when I went to give them a £20 note, so they didn't charge.
With the private scan we got 18 pictures on a disc as well as a DVD of the entire scan!
Well worth £110.

We went to Walsall Manor too and to be honest there was one particular nurse/midwife who did the scanning who's attitude was a bit off-ish. Apart from that, they were good.
As it's our first we didn't want to know - keep it a surprise
There is a private clinic we used in Oldbury for scans such as 3d, etc etc if anybody wants any details from the West Mids.
Currently awaiting and it could be anytime now - formal due date is next Monday but I can't wait so hoping it comes sooner rather than later! I've even been reading of natural inducing methods incase I run out of patience lol!!

Pontificating
Self inducement can be attained with a strong curry and some action doggy style, apparently. That said it didnt work although the curry was nice, just try not to spill any on the wifes arsecheeks

Don't go too mad. Remember, you're having a baby boy, not a baby elephant! All you need is something with 4 doors (rather than a 3 door car, just so it's a lot easier to get baby and seat in/out!) plus a boot. My brother managed quite happily with *normal* 4 door saloons with his two. We were quite happy with a 4 door saloon with our one, though we currently have an estate but not because of kiddies requirements. Don't let the other 'arf *persuade* you otherwise .....

They can still get it wrong depending on how the baby is resting. We were expecting two girls so you can imagine my surprise on the day when the first turned out to be a little boy!

Our doctor said 95% accuracy of the test and that he has never got one wrong.
It was quite clear when he showed us what the differences normally are.
