Which breakdown cover???
Assuming that all the companies offer a similar price, is there any reason i should choose one over another?
I'm just looking for basic roadside assistance / recovery for 2 cars in the household.
I'm guessing response time is fairly high on the agenda - as the AA and RAC are the big boys, is their respose time any better as a result?

I was paying £65 for roadside only with AA. When I insured the Scooby, A Plan did a deal with Britannia (ok not the biggest but still came out within 30 mins ) for extra couple of quid but FULL cover....homestart, roadside, recovery and european

You could always update your Bank account to one that offers a breakdown assitance in with the monthly subscription, as well as that get other benefits such as mobile phone insurance, additional warranty cover on your household items as well as travel insurance etc... I did this and the Breakdown covers me and not the car I Drive, and this is the top package cover as well All this for £15.00 a month!

I wouldn't reccomend the RAC. A couple of years ago i broke down in the middle of nowhere and all they did was lie to me for 12 hours.
I eventually got picked up at 5am but had to stay awake to show the driver how to get to my house!!!

The AA and RAC have dedicated patrols. Green Flag and others usually send out a local garage. Depends who you'd rather see.
AA claim to have the most patrols, but RAC say they have the most per member.
I've used both a few times in company vehicles and couldn't say who was better. Neither arrive at the time they tell you, but are usually helpful when they do.
