I need some help. Not tried AV forums yet as it can be a minefield![Ponder2](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/ponder2.gif)
Anyway i want to be able to have seperate satellite feeds to 6 x rooms preferaly be able to have recording & HD in most of these rooms. Now i have been reading a bit about satellite multiswitches but my questions are;
1. Do i need to pay seperate multiroom charges for every box ?
2. Can i do what i want to do above ?
3. Is the satellite multiswitch compatible with SKY ?
4. What other options do i have ?
Cheers
PS its all for a residential property.

If you want to have total control over the channels you watch in each room, then I believe you need a receiver for every tv.
Pay a one-off charge for each box
If you want recording/HD, you might also have to pay an additional monthly charge too.
(I have Virgin in 3 rooms in my house and have a small additional monthly fee for one of them which is my extra V+ box (on top of my first V+ charge), the 3rd Virgin box is bog standard and that's free).
So unless you are ok with watching the same channel on all tv's in all rooms, I'm not sure it's possible.

You can always get some freesat boxes as I think you can mix free sat and sky on a satellite multiswitch.
I am just starting a housebuild and I am going to use cat6 runs to each room.

What will that achieve ? How will that work ?
Say i want to watch sky sports HD in the sitting room, the missus wants to watch x factor in the lounge & my boy wants to watch sky movies HD in his room while recording another movie ? Without paying out fortunes for multiroom is there another way ? There must be!

Multi switch will work with sky you'll need a quttro lnb not a quad.
Switching installs tend to be for communal installs and we fit 90cm dishes but a normal sky dish will do it.
Going by your knowledge with the questions you're asking I wouldn't try installing this equipment yourself and contact a local aerial and satellite company.
