Well I bought this yesterday and watched it last night, and... well, it was like actually watching the first one all over again...
The music, atmosphere, location were all very similar, but what was stranger was the scenes... they seemed to be very similar to the original film...
From falling over water falls, to standing in the jungle flexing and posing, to dodging traps and the weaponry... staring at trees... I was waiting for "Somethings got Billy spooooked" at one point![Lol1](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/lol1.gif)
A minigun
Two sub-machine guns
A fight between a predator and someone wielding a sword (albeit Billy had a big knife)
Has anyone else experienced this strange phenomena?

The fact that its so close to the first one puts me off. I bought Iron Man 2 instead (which is good in a mindless blowing **** up kind of way)
Should have been Arnie being taken after killing the Pred in the first film, a number of other double hard bast5ards who also killed Preds taken to a planet to be prey for Vet' Preds, lots of fighting, some good one liners and a cameo in the middle somewhere from Danny Glover.
Now that would have made a great trilogy.
Can only hope Ridley Scott doesn't make a mess of Alien 5. The other remake on the horizon has already begun to be written off is The Thing.

I was vastly disappointed. The original is in my top three movies and this would struggle to make my top 1000 (and i'm not sure i could name 1000!!). Reasonable idea but poorly excecuted.....

Hated it ! From the unconvincingly butch Jake Gyllywobble, to the Russian barely able to lift 'ole painless', the limp Yakuza character and the pointless token female. Laurence Fishburn was the worst though. Awful acting allied with him looking woefully out of place. Supposedly evading capture and living off the land for 10 years in such an extreme environment, and yet looking more like he'd been sat in a Lay'Z'Boy eating pizza for 10 years. The original remains the definitive Predator movie and I doubt will ever be topped for action, originality, script (awesome one-liners) and a well-matched cast who may not have been great actors, but fitted the roles perfectly. I wish John McTeirnen was still chucking them out like that

I thought it was proper crap.
And we saw it at the cinema.
It's one thing being faithful to the original. It's something else when they try to copy it.....badly!
