Real Christmas gift ideas
Trout's thread looks like becoming something of a Tam Special - So I thought I'd start a new one.
Simple Idea - put in links to products you wouldn't mind receiving as a gift this XMas or products you think would be good to give as presents.
Ball rolling with this;
Haynes - Build your own Internal Combustion Engine - Good for a Dad/Mum to give as pressie to son/daughter and spend time building it together.
http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B...pf_rd_i=468294
Try to avoid popular stuff we all know about already

Top spot though.
You can now get Slankets with 'manly' designs on them such as skull and crossbones and Binary. Perfect for those winter nights snuggled up to the mrs or for a boy child. Saves on the heating too, frugal AND toasty

The one thing I would lime is the one thing I can't have!
Every Christmas one of my children is really poorly. Ear infection, strep throat or something else that makes them equally sad and miserable
I would just like them to both be happy and well, so that they can enjoy their special day, and I can act like a big mushy **** in peace.
Failing that, all I have asked for is the DVD box set of True Blood.
I am happy as long as the children are, and as I don't work, I will happily go without if necessary as long as they get what they want.

Keeping with the Self Build theme.
I had one of the originals of this and it was great fun building & running it
Tamiya self build remote control buggy.
http://www.rcmodelcentre.co.uk/Tamiy...prod_2559.html
I'm sure the original was something like £100.

Think yourself lucky. The eternal disappointment of never getting a Mr Frosty pales in insignificance to that of actually getting a mr frosty, making about 10 drinks, and then it being useless due to either parents not buying me any more sachets of syrup powder stuff, or the company not actually selling extra packets. Can't remember which now.
Poor old mr frosty sat there unloved under my bed for years, as my excitement turned in to bitter sadness that I could no longer make delicious icy beverages.

I intend on getting this for my 10 month old niece...

Great idea, being able to download things onto it. Every toy should be updatable.

I too always wanted a Mr Frosty but never got one.
As an early present from my husband in our early years, he bought me a 'Ready Steady Cook' version.
It took about 45 minutes to grind up the ice cubes with a large glorified pencil sharpener!
We just used soda stream syrups. Cherry Slushies FTW
For what its worth, you can buy a rather awesome retro red slush machine from firebox iirc for £50.

Me and mrs swiss are not buying each other anything as all money is being put aside for the wedding next year (not that we have any spare )
Normally would spend all the money on the three kids we have but unfortunately this year my bitch of an ex-wife has decided to take me to court to ask for yet more money in maintenance !
So all the money that I had set aside or earmarked for the kids now has to go towards paying for my solicitors bill whilst bitch face has legal aid.
God knows how I will do it, but somehow I will get them something
Should be a really fun xmas

I remember about 12 years ago I received an R/C car as an xmas present.
Wife bought it for me and I had great fun building it.
It was a 1/24 Michelin Pilot Escort Cosworth.
I remember that quite literally there were thousands of bits in the kit.
Then about a week after I had it built and painted etc my son (about 7 at the time) decided to take it out to play.
He crashed the thing into the kerb

I hope she doesn't show her face at your wedding, I've been dying to get my hands on her for years
