This travellers appears to have gone to the poorest parts of india on the ganges ( Looks like Patna in Bihar). Its not all like that...........but most of it is....
The bodies in the river are the dead of poorest of the poor who can't even afford a funeral pyre...
You want to see some the railways banks in Delhi along side the tracks, what a mess dead animals, trash, junkies ohh and of course the people who live there....
But thats India for you, you have to take it for what it is and personally I think its a great place.....even if its a bit smelly....

It's a different culture - they believe the body is just a vessel, so after death its just a husk and that's what they do with the husk, return it to the river... the source of all life.

I am not easily shocked but those images...
It is disgusting that a country can afford to host the Commonwealth Games have a nuclear programme and yet its people live in such appalling conditions.
'Third world' hardly describes it...

I was expecting to see pics of a pretty backward country. I thought I was going to be prepared, I've been to Bulgaria after all, but OMG. I cannot believe that human life can actually flourish in conditions like that. Truly disgusting, no way am I ever going to India.

I watched the river monsters series where the giant catfish that live in this river gorge on corpses and sometimes attack swimmers as a result.
2m+ long and quite capable of tearing a corpse in half...

Pretty terrible pictures.
We had to land at Calcutta once to register our trip to Khatmandu. The scenes of beggars shoulder to shoulder at the airport gates was enough to give the real story!

LOL the heights of ignorance.
Just see one perspective or one part of a country or a culture, and slate whole of any foreign country! Excellent, man. You are a real Scoobynetter.
