Has our country gone mad?
A friend of mine on facbook has just vent his anger on there.
His mum has had a visit from PCSO to tell her to take her pig ornaments out the windows as it's offending the local Muslim family!
What a joke.

Suggest to your mum that she is offended by her neighbours being offended and that she should ask the bonehead PCSO to visit the neighbours to tell them that their offence is causing her to be offended and so if they stop being so offended she wouldn't be offended.
Alternatively, call the Daily Mail and sell the story

I find this sort of thing bizarre having lived in Muslim countries - celebrated Christmas, Easter, etc. Bought bacon and alcohol in shops there with problem or offending anyone's sensibilities.
Please post up the link when it finally gets in the Daily Wail

If true, Id make a formal complaint about the PCSO. Speak to a uniformed inspector at the PCSOs station and dont be persuaded to allow it to be dealt with informally.

If this story is true, personally i would put the ornaments back on the window sill.
If certain people dont like them they dont have to look at them do they.........

Are they going to move them? I wouldn't! Can you get a giant Santa-style pig Christmas display for the front garden? That would really **** them off

Sounds like there isnt a whole story here, nobody has any right to object to an ornament (however naff) on someone elses windowsill, Muslims do not have a problem with Pigs themselves as a concept, they just dont eat them and I really cant imagine anyone being "offended" enought to involve the Police, I doubt any Muslim would want to generate animosity like that as I am sure there are far bigger challenges than some porcelain pigs.

This happened in Leicester years ago an old lady was forced by police and the council to remove her halifax piggies as they were offending local muslims!

IF true as in the whole story then i'd have been telling the PCSO to take a hike or come back with a warrant to forcibly remove them and see how far they get.
I don't think the already ludicrous laws in this country have stooped so low yet as to make it illegal to display any sort of swine related object in view of the public
In addition the idiot who made the complaint should be confronted and told if they don't like what is on display they stop looking in the windows of the said house and stop being so ******* nosey.

This is a joke, much like the residents who lived near a cafe cooking bacon.
Their action are far more counter productive by restricting someone's civil liberty. Their short sightedness just excacebates the problem on both sides rather than quelling any potential reprisals.

The trouble is with these kind of posts is that people tend to go off on one saying how the country is going downhill, the tail is wagging the dog without any actual proof that it existed, it is like if Muslims are involved its just a case of saying they are trying to get some intrinsic and cherished part of British life banned or just plain speaking out of turn and then they are off.
Facebook is full of mongs, someone creates a group and all the (and I like the phrase as mentioned above) "Hard of Thinking" join it, some because they dont like being dictated to (whether they are or not in actual fact) and then some turn a blind eye to facts as it is a nice easy segue into some casual racism. I can usually predict which of the ********* I went to school with that will send me invites to join something "Patriotic".
There will be a Facebook Group before tommorow calling for all good Brits to display a Porecelain Pig to show solidarity and that they cant be told what to do by those uppity Muslims.
We need to learn, as a country to spot when our buttons are being pushed, ditto the Muslims, the whole Cartoons thing being a case in point, that proove my theories that people like a good confrontation, aren't generally that bright and potentially will lead us into major bloodshed over trivial things.

If this deeply unlikely tale is true then I would make a formal complaint against the PCSO.
I would love to see what law was being broken that required the pig removal.
As for the link - that is rather different. That is about marketing to the widest audience possible. A bit like Robinson's removing the Golly from their marmalade jars.
