It's all part of a wider plan to turn the public away from supporting wikileaks..... you know the "rapist" that ruined "Christmas" by blocking online payment sites....

It gets my vote. If the US and its cohorts are going to fit up someone for something he probably hasn't done so as to stop him from uncovering their nasty little home truths then they have to expect some reprisals and what better way in the digital age than DDOS attacks on the world of Internet retail.

...and aren't the corporations in question within their rights to not provide support for wikileaks? Paypal don't have an obligation to provide services to everyone.

I'm all for it. Companies that are bowing down to political pressure are contributing to the government's agenda and cannot be trusted.

Why would anyone want to deal with a company that thinks the KKK is ok, but Wikileaks not?

Hasn't really bothered me to be honest, as they haven't targeted anything I need to use yet! Hard to pretend to care otherwise!
But in my opinion these companies can do what they like with regards to providing services... it's their company. The only thing that would p*ss me off is if the governments actually forced them to do stop providing the service to someone.
If these companies are caving in to political pressure and people don't like it, then justice would best be served by never using them again to buy anything. If what they're doing offends so many people then they will soon change their tune as they won't have a business.

In principle I like some of the stuff wikileaks etc can do by lifting the veil of secrecy on public life but otoh it CLEARLY has an anti-American agenda. FFS you have Russian, Hugo Chavez etc praising wikileaks! Euro liberals in solidarity with a mafia state and a leftist-demagogue and dictator. Crazy and disgusting!

I don't believe you are this obtuse.
Everyone knows they did not steal the information - there are no criminal proceeding against WikiLeaks, and unless governments start passing new 'emergency' laws that make it illegal to disclose information they don't like, they wont be. In which case we really are f*****d. Instead what we are seeing are governments trying to bend the rules as much as possible.

Wikileaks and all of its posts are controlled by the US government anyway, stuff they cant admit publicly that will come out anyway, stuff they are dying to tell the world, stuff they want to plant and misinformation, I think its fairly obvious, even the seemingly cack handed "attempts" to railroad the process, the rape charges etc, if the guy was really releasing stuff they didn't want in the public domain do you really think he would still be around given the CIA exist ? good god it is so obvious.

Wikileaks is CLEARLY anti American..... good
Maybe if America didn't go around poking its nose into other countries' business and starting illegal wars it wouldn't have so many opponents!

I'm a realist about it.
I really distrust anti-americanists, too many political opportunists use it as a flag to rally around while they push their own anti-democratic and anti-liberal politics, from Chavez, to Chinese, to Islamists.
They are much worse but pretend they are better; the worse hypocrites.
What is the alternative? There will always be a hegemon.
We'd probably be under **** rule right now if America had not 'poked it's nose into other countries business'.

America is a fairly benign hegemony in historical terms. It's not perfect but it could be many times worse, we owe the relative global peace and economic success to it in many ways. Imagine if it had been the ***** or Communists instead? Could easily have been.
