they planted the wrong type of seed so they made loads of derv... i remember watching that episode
i dont remember if they replanted it with the correct seed type to make petrol.. hmm i think they maybe mentioned it after saying they made diesel!!

I mean one sack of seeds wouldn't even make a gallon of fuel.
The added fact it went straight through the hopper into a single 1sq/ft pile instead of 100sq/ft.
But it did give them excuses to
a) prat about with tractors
b) prat about on a race track for 24hrs
So I'm not moaning; switch off the brain and take it for what it is; entertainment.

I think you will find it was a 20kg bag of rape seed and will drill roughly 10 acres per 20kg bag, we tend to get 1.5ton per acre, A very good crop would see 2ton. So from 10 acres your looking at getting from 15 to 20 tones from that crop.
1 ton of rape should make 250-300 ltr of oil.
