Default Come Fly With Me

Anyone been watching this?
Some of the sketches I find really funny and can relate to the type of people these guys are taking the **** out of.
Tonight I particularly thought the sketch about the Immigrant board game was hilarious. Plus the way Taaj talks..

Nice to see the BBC sending itself up. Was a satire of Airport and Airline, at the same time.

I liked it because my Missus used to make the Airport programme, when it was on, Sky plussed it for her, am sure she will enjoy it.

Taaj was hilarious, but frankly his English was too good! Should have been more of an "innit?"

I just watched the first three episodes on the iPlayer and thought it was very funny. I do not like Little Britian so I was pleasantly surprised.

Board game was excellent - should really be put into production

As wrong as it might be - I found the dwarfs on the plane really funny, and the baggage handlers

Taaj did say "innit" in previous episodes I thought, but the "isn't it" was very noticable in this episode.

It was ok, a few bits were funny, but I think they were trying to be very careful with how non pc they were going to be.

I think with that sort of thing, part of the humour is based on the fact that you have overstepped the mark a little.
This seemed to be just dipping it's toe over the edge and trying to be a little bit naughty, but not quite naughty enough for it to have been truly funny.

I hope that makes sense?

After the Sachs Gate the BBC are being super careful,
I saw a interview with Lucas and he said there was like a 100 pages of do`s and dont`s rules now,
that said some of the characters are funny but I have no idea what the Coffee woman or Moses are supposed to really bring.

Surely the whole point of the show, like Little Britain, is taking the pi$$ out of the 'little Englanders' - that is, they're doing characters that the Daily Mail readers think the UK is a wash with.

If you look a little deeper into it, it's not non-PC at all. (if that makes sense?)

We are back in the 70's with blacking up, drag acts and making fun of "people from abroad".

That's exactly not what it's about.

It's actually making fun of 'us' - the indigenous UK population and how 'we' perceive 'people from abroad' to be.

Moses, is a take on the guy at Heathrow, Kelvin i think his name was, they are / were the personal shopper/concierge people.

The Coffee woman, precious, i agree has limited value, as do the airport photographers,

Next time you fly from Heathrow, have a look for the originals

Ive spotted the photographers a few times, and one of the flight attendants who was in the "real" series

Didn't see last night but I was pretty bored with previous episodes. A few funny bits in mostly dross. And I get fed up with all the gay stuff even accepting that airlines have more than their share. And before you start I don't mind gay jokes but half the bloody show?

I don't think they would have got the show on TV if they hadn't been established comedians.

Watched Laconia instead. Excellent

I think it is ok, nice idea and very well done but a bit short of actual jokes, though there were some funny moments.

It is a bit predictable to not like them "Blacking up" but should we not satirise some sections of society because we have to apply make up and may incur the wrath of the Guardian, I would not be offended if someone "Whited up" and took the p1ss in a good way out of the white English, I like to see how others perceive us, it makes me laugh, French Calling us "Rosbif", Aussies calling us Whining Poms, a certain ammount of good humoured mimicking and mocking opens doors, common ground.

Taaj is a really good take of of a young British Asian, it isnt a negative stereotype any more than the white ones are, he is working and is a positive character, a lot of young Asian males are like that, the same vernacular, works for me anyway, would hope that kind of person sees themselves and has a chuckle rather than be offended.

The black lady, Precious is perhaps a little bit more "Two Ronnies" style but still I dont think anyone is going to lose sleep.

The Gay man is a perfect take off of an actual man off Airline, I would hope he is flattered, a slight characture but not much embellishment was needed and Walliams himself is generally that camp anyway.

The got Christians in there, the beardy couple with little fish badges on.

The Pilots are white middle class.

The Check in girls are working class whites, one looks suspiciously like a girl from work.

The Baggage handlers are white working class males.

Chavs were reprented with the mum and "One and a half year old"

There was a Gay Irishman in there.
So, they take the p1ss out of everybody, balance, thats how they get away with it.

Being a highly sensitive individual (I know!) I would usually side with Andy on this - but in this instance I am going with Zip.

It is an ironic look at how 'little England' perceives itself. I think some Scoobynetters probably think it is real

Overall I think it is hugely predictable - but in a way comfortably funny like the old village pub!

As aside, I'm normally not a sensitive soul and it doesn't offend me, but rather reasons why it's not funny!

The programme is too near the knuckle to be a parody of the industry.

I think they missed the sketch where the young blond, blue eyed white girl gets searched going through security and the woman wearing the burka walks through unchallenged.
This happens on a regular basis to my daughter when she's in uniform as a flight attendant and it annoys the hell out of her
