It is easy to criticise British infrastructure - it us mostly underinvested, badly planned and badly integrated.
From recent experience there is a shining example of getting it right. Door to door from my hotel in Paddington, where I work during the week, to airside at T5 averages 40 mins. The terminal is mostly straightforward and the Heathrow Express is as good as any airlink in the world.
In the good old days it could easily be 90mins just to get airside after arriving at the terminal.
So, credit where credit is due.

It amounted to bad design process, bad planning, bad site infrastructure, and bad accountancy.
Britain still can't organise a p!ss up in a brewery
