Default F1 just got more bearable

Jonathan Legards gone

link

It always amazed me how that man commentated on races when clearly he couldnt tell his **** from his elbow, the amount of errors and utter nonsense he used to spout was unbelievable at times !

At least now we have two ex-F1 racers who might actually be able to track whats happening !

Happy days !

You are being unfair. His background knowledge was in fact pretty broad. His major problem was that he was not very good at commentating and getting unnecessary facts out at the same time as well as cutting over Brundle who often had something pretty important to add at the time.

I look forward to a much higher and less irritating class of commentary for the coming season.

Maybe **** from elbow part was a tad harsh but his job was lead commentator and he was hopeless at it as you've pointed out

This can indeed prove to be a serious drawback in one's career as a commentator.

Were they?!! That's news to me (that's something that wouldn't have escaped me lightly)!

But yeah, by all account, for 2011, it's in full 1080i HD (obviously on the simulcast BBC One HD channel) - can't wait!

Ahh, yes that's right - I actually watched it! lol

But yeah, it would have been 576p upscaled to 1080i -- not HD, but a smoother picture nonetheless.

EJ should be the last one they get rid off, like you say no one is safe from EJ, and no one else has big enough ***** to ask some of the things EJ does

Agree on the EJ front.

He does talk a load of bollox at times, but is good value/entertaining.

And his powers of persuasion in the paddock to get those exclusive interviews, at a moment's notice, is second to none.

It just goes to prove that if you take a comment out of context it is so easy to effectively change the meaning which was originally implied.

It is also a good example of how some spend their waking lives just looking for a way to attack others in order to try for a cheap laugh.

The full comment that I made was perfectly logical with respect to the point I was illustrating.
