Being well behind with the '24' TV series, I've just finished the second series on DVD.
It got me thinking.
For those that don't know the story - a US oil tycoon pays some Middle Eastern terrorist group to detonate a nuclear bomb on US soil.
This in turn makes the US government invade the Middle east thus pushing up the price of oil considerably. (all in a nutshell - far too many sub-plots to go into on here).
Considering all the conspiracy theories after 9/11, could this actually happen?

Given the way the current standard of living is entrenched in the U.S., it wouldn't really be surprising the things politicians would do to keep the house of cards up.
