You have got to be kidding! What do you get for that £450 ticket? 7 course lunch and a helicopter ride to your seat?

Mind you....with the rate of inflation, by next year it'll be the same price as a sack of spuds.

£450 is the top price tier, lowest is £20 for swimming. Do your work for the Daily Mail lol?

I would love to take my kids along to one of the finals - i do think even paying 100.00+ each would be far too expensive. Very Ironic as i have already contributed towards the costs for staging this event!

It will price most people/families out of the market for what is essentially family viewing and about sport for all. The only people able to effort this will be the elite and corporates as hospitality which seems to me to be against the spirit of the Olympics.

Doesn't really excite me to be honest, maybe back when Athletics was amateur but they are all corporate ****** these days, and the Olympics is patently swollen out of all proportion with too many non-events and things like tennis etc pointlessly included for no good reason other than to increase the size of the games.

If I look at the 100m final which has to be the most wanted - thats £50pp cheapest ticket. Thats about the same as a premiership match ticket for a London club tbh. Granted they should be doing something to encourage families ie reduced kids prices.

Never mind, all the MP's will be able to go on a free ticket of course. They might as well, hardly ever seems to be more than a handfull in the House at any one time anyway!

With Ian Thorpe coming out of retirement to have a crack at Michael Phelps I'm looking forwards to the swimming. If it's £20 then that isn't too bad for a family of 4.

£50 for the lower tier at the velodrome is a bit excessive though. I was thinking about spending a day there with the kids.

Some of the more popular stuff is in "sessions". So the first announcement seemed OK before the timetable release yesterday, but now it seems that for even qualifying type events there may be several sessions.

For example my little girl is into gymnastics. Even the qualifying split is split into three time slots in a day @ £20 per session for an adult ticket (no doubt up in the gods). My wife is looking at £90 for her and my daughter to go for a day (ie 3 x £60 and 3 x £10)!

Bit disappointed with the slots idea. Not sure if it's to generate revenue or genuinely because they will have a lot of interest.

I wanted to watch the hockey, possibly MTB races too. Whilst I'll follow the archery and shooting, actually watching the events is like watching paint dry.

Sadly they have overpriced the games IMHO, its going to cost a family a lot of cash to watch events let alone finals. When the winter olympics were in Italy the prices were no where near these levels.

I might yet still go to the hockey, but it depends if 1 of the customers comes through at work.

But you'd like Cornwall to be seperate from the UK, Dave. Careful what you wish for.

Anyway, I'm looking forward to the games and think it's funny to see the usual suspects making things up to support their anti-everything outlook. If there hadn't have been any premium seats, I'd be reading how Lord Coe had failed to capitalise on the investment.

The 100m final will be over in seconds how disapointed would you be to pay the top price for the ticket lol.

The £20 are all behind colums so you won't see anything ;-)

I think it is best watched in the comfort of your own home as its the way to see everything and its free, it would work out too expensive to go to London for hte day to watch something by the time you have paid 100's in fuel, food and tickets.

The only good thing I can see from the whole setup is the facilities at the Olympices are going to be a cashless setup which should be quite interesting.

The tax payers will pay for these so the Olympics will bring the country into more recession and debt (as happened with Greece for example).

Of course for the companies who build the works it's all good

OK - cheapest ticket may be £50 quid, but where will you be sitting in comparison to the most expensive ticket at £725?

Now, point taken - £50 might be similar to to a premership game, but a premiership match will last 90 minutes

I think the whole thing will be shyte anyway.

The weather will most likely be shyte, getting to and from the events will be a nightmare.

Atos Origin are the prime IT contractor with back-office provided by Accenture.

I disagree with your last point as not only is it a fixed deadline with no scope for slippage but also a high-profile programme where any system error, downtime or slippage in delivery will see the organisation all over the media for all the wrong reasons and subject to serious liquidated damages.

The risk of failing delivery far outweighs the benefits that might be realised in delivering IMHO.

Flipping hell, some of you will moan about anything!

100m Final will be just a small part of a whole evenings entertainment/history making!

Traffic bad, of course it will be, this is a once in a life time event! If you don't like it, ot can't afford it, dont go....I don't think they will struggle to sell tickets.

I hope to get to the Velodrome, or at least watch the road race for free.

For me, not to see some of it would be a crime.
