Default Another 23p on a gallon?!?!

Now, there have been many campaigns, fuel protests, blockades but THIS campaign is different and gathering momentum. It is our best chance to take a stand and show government we will not tolerate FURTHER increases!

The campaign is being led by Peter Carroll, the man behind the successful Ghurka Campaign. Read more here >>> http://www.fairfueluk.com/background.html

Quentin Wilson, the famous motoring journalist is also part of the campaign. See his blog here >>> http://www.fairfueluk.com/quentins_blog.php

So, far estimated signatures have reached about 100,000 but the more we have, the more successful the campaign will be and we are ALL affected by the stupidly high fuel prices at the moment.

What can you do? Well, the FairFuelUK website has lots of information and makes it really easy to do something and you decide how far you want to go.

Find out where every penny of your hard earned cash goes on every litre of fuel you buy >>> http://www.fairfueluk.com/documents/fueltax.html

Email your MP (a list of email addresses and a template email) here >>> http://www.fairfueluk.com/is_your_mp_supporting.html

Sign the online petition (takes 10 secs) >>> http://www.fairfueluk.com/documents/petition.html

Email a friend (or forward this email) >>> http://www.fairfueluk.com/documen/tellafriend.html

Download a petition form (or carry out you own campaign) >>> http://www.fairfueluk.com/documents/request.html

PLEASE take 10/15mins from one day of your life to make a difference. We all benefit but it needs all of us to do something, however small.

I'm amazed a signed pertition would make much difference as surely the Government know there is a problem already?

Sure, they know. But will they do anything about it unless we tell them?

If we always do, what we've always done, we'll always get, what we've always got ;-)

There is a problem, but what can be done really? What the gov need to start doing is lowering spending, because then they can reduce - or even keep constant - taxes. I guess the reality is that they need this money, or we will all be up sh*t creek. Action is good, but just getting them to lower the price of fuel isn't getting to the cause of the problem. No one will do that of course... too many people enjoying the fruits of the welfare state.

To be fair though, this isnt about reducing the cost of fuel. It's about making sure the government dont hike it up by 23p a gallon as is the plan in April.

If everyone is happy for fuel duty to be increased at will then we dont need to do anything, but come April when it happens, we cant say we didnt have a chance to do something about it.

Signatures won't help though fella ... blocking the streets of London for a day may make a difference although I guess the Govt will need to feel more pain than that.

Agreed, they are NOW looking into because of the pressure received already but actually making sure that happens is the aim of the campaign.

How many times have we heard something will happen and then it doesn't.

Yeh, LPG is definitely cheaper but then when diesel was less common that was cheaper too.

The government soon catch on to whats popular and make sure they get their pound of flesh from it.

If everyone started using LPG tomorrow, would it stay at 77p/l?

Signed up fella, But i do think that direct action is needed, not just the haulage companies this time, but everyone go on a go slow, and bring the country to a stand still. I think its the only way. We are just getting shafted every time, we are far to soft, we there you go bankers, there's x amount of billions, oh and take your bonuses, and ram it up us again, and again, and again. What do we expect, we just roll over and take it up the ar$e every time. Rant over with.

+1

The issue being too many are seeing the risk of doing this as, erm too risky As in we could do all this protesting stuff but me may make our leaders cross and get into trouble with the fuzz

At least our powleece would only use rubber bullets to start with

Sad but true. Everyone thinks someone else will deal with the problem.

The sooner we all realise we each have a responsibilty to make sure these clowns in office are doing what WE want, the better.

The only problem is, once it gets that bad, will it be too late?

I reckon the best protest would be a one day strike, you've seen how much disruption that causes if say, the fireman go on strike, or the post office.

Imagine if everyone in the country decided not to turn up for work for one day. Oh my, im getting hard just thinking about it lol

Unfortunately, not turning up for work on one day won't work for those of us who are self employed!

With regards to the price of fuel, the wholesale price has fallen across Europe yet the the retailers in Britain have decided not to pass that fall on to us.
