F1 China
If you reckon that F1 is too boring to watch, I can recommend seeing the recording of the Chinese race today. Outstanding race and full of action right up to the end. What a turn around!

Yep, well done to Ham/Macca for executing their plan to perfection -- a great tactical win by 'sacrificing' going for pole by retaining a fresh set of softs for the race. Fantastic stuff!
And the tyres/DRS/KERS are all combining to end the years of "Sunday processions" - so all hail to that. (I don't care if some aspects of it are, perhaps, a little contrived). Bottom line is, you have to wait till the end of the race to be CERTAIN of who's gonna be on the podium!
Is that not what we've been crowing for, for years?!

I agree also, great race! Would have been great to see Webber pass Vettel too, yer.
One question though...i presume the rules state you can weave here, there and everywhere when the red lights turn off? Vettel was all over the place.

According to the commentary, yeah, you can do what you want at the start of the race as it's too complicated to track what everyone is doing whilst jostling for position at the start.

Best race I've seen for ages, though I think something should have been done about Alonso activating the DRS out of the zone. If he activated it, then it should have been a drive through penalty, and if it was a fault it begs the question about whether it should have been a visit to the pits for a repair.
Edited to let Alonso off after reading the BBC News article on his rear wing activation. Begrudgingly

The boy Di Resta is set for big things, I reckon. He's got such a level head and seems to already know what F1 is all about! He interviews extremely well.
Watch this space... (Hopefully one of the bigger teams will snap him up, if he fulfills the promise).
Very impressive.
Wasn't he 2010's DTM champ? (Can't be arsed to google...)

Fantastic race!
Regarding Alonso's DRS being activated in the wrong zone, read here:

Turns out there was a delay with the system being available.
Don't forget, the FIA are in charge of when a car can deploy DRS, not the teams or the driver.
Was great to see Schumi back to his good racing ways.

Watched the race again last night and it really was non stop action. Hamilton and Webber drove brillianlty and great to see both Mercedes with better pace.
Pity Massa couldn't finish higher up the order as he had his best race for a while. Won't be long before he gets another of those radio messages though Shame Alonso is having such a diffcult start to the season

There have been plenty of other penatlies applied even during "no overall gain" type scenarios - just take Alonso's penalty last weekend @ Sepang for hitting Lewis. I've no doubt that look deep enough, you will find other examples of penalties handed out for FIA controlled systems that failed and a team using that feature at the wrong time.
