Default Going back to Sky, what have you got from them?

I had a Sky TV package about 18months ago which we cancelled and went onto freeview. They keep sending me letters (1 a month) trying to tempt me to come back. Offers like 1/2 price for a year or free HD box and installation etc...... I'm, considering it but want to get as much out of them as I can to make it worth my while

So whos gone back to Sky and what was the deal you got?

I phoned them up to see their prices after leaving them for 3 months. I told them that I found them expensive. They offered me full package at £1.50 for 4 months. After month 4 i cancelled!

i agree with pimmo. we have just left sky cos they cannot bar mobile calls being made from the house phone whereas vm can. we get sky sports 123 espn and motors tv on BOTH boxes for slightly less than we used to pay sky for just sky sports 1 and a basic package upstairs. they would of caved in as they kept phoning us right up till the installation but as they cannot stop mobile calls it did not help us cos of our special needs daughter.

I'm about to phone up and see what incentive they'll give me to stay. TBH though, I've just looked at VM and BT Vision and like-for-like both are more expensive than Sky, especially as already have the kit. VM want £50 just to set-up the HD+ box, and you still don't own it at the end of the contract

Sky is currently £42 with 20Mb unlimited BB, TV with Kids and Variety packs and evening and weekend calls.

VM is £55 with 10Mb unlimited BB, TV with 165 channels and weekend calls plus £50 for the HD+ box.

BT Vision is £38 with 20Mb/40Gb BB, TV with 70 channels and evening and weekend calls plus Vision +.

On the phone to Sky now and they've just cut £10.25 per month of the cost of my contract

Just out of interest and feel free to tell me to mind my own, but how does locking mobiles help ?

I assume she makes calls and you're concerned with costs ? Why not pin lock the line? allow only certain numbers or emergency numbers?

I got 9 weeks of waiting for them to sort out my phoneline and activate my broadband plus continuous calls to find out where my router was which they kept ordering but never appeared. The exchange is at the top of my street so you'd at least expect my speeds to be reasonable but I get a mega 1.5mb and a connect that keeps dropping out.

I Love Sky I do!

My box packed up last week, so I phoned and played the " paying a subscription without a box is a waste, blah blah blah"

I said I may as well cancel, she was very nice and said " see ya then "

They must be getting wise to empty threats as they know they are the cheapest

You've got to go through with it if you say that you're going to cancel.
I did and it seemed like they were just going to cancel there and then. Just before the cancellation was done I got put through to the cancellations dept who offered me all sorts of incentives to stay! I really wanted to cancel at the time so it just irritated me! After about half hour they eventually gave up! I had at least one phonecall a week off them for about 3 months trying to talk me back! I now get a letter a month trying to temp me!!

If they give me good enough offer I'll give in (I miss my sky+ recording ability!)

Just got upgraded to Sky HD (being installed next weekend).

Got a free HD box, free installation/setup and a £60 credit (paid within 45 days).

I was about to buy a new Sky remote as mine is dieing through too much abuse, so that's £20 I don't have to spend on that. So effectively we are getting a new HD box and HD subscription for £40-ish for a year, at which point I can cancel the HD, and still have the new box which gives us the new Sky+ Anytime that has the massive movie library etc.

The only good thing I guess for me is that after 3yrs of **** my router blew up --- actual smoke comming from it. I purchased a router from Argos and it didnt work. Turns out you can only have a sky issued one..... Expensive I thought but I was wrong
£20 and out within 3 days.. **** back on!

They obviously are not going to offer that to everybody are they you thick shit

It was like a good will gesture so I could see if I enjoyed the full package when I turned around and said ''no thanks'' at the full price.

And I said that I will go else were. ''How would you like the full package for 4 months to see if you like it and take it from there'' That's how it went.

If you still don't believe me, I can dig out my bank statments if you like, and I'll take a picture????????
