Have Class 2 Licence, and my full Coach licence, and am about to start my Class 1 training in 3-4 weeks.
Main thing is using your mirrors, and getting used to the length compared to the view in the mirror. Could park my coach/bus about an inch away from obstacles, yet get in my car and have a funny five mins lol.
Anyone got a job for a Class 1 driver in South Wales in about a month lol.

The main thing is take it slow, there is no hurry.....You will try and drive at your normal pace but you will get into a mess with the gears especially if it has a splitter in the gearbox.
Good luck

Yeah got HGV, one thing you will learn, is how to drive properly, rather than those with car licences who are taught to pass a test and not much else.
You'll find your observation so much better as you really do need to be able to monitor what is going on all around you all of the time.
Mastering the gears takes some getting used to though easier now then it used to be, but reversing is relatively easy once you get used to it.
Just take your time and you will be fine. Good luck.

I'm booked on a 5 day intense training course. Is that enough? Cost same for 7.5 tonne or class 2, so thought might as well go for class 2. Need it to drive horse box.
