Default Private plate change
Been waiting 7 working days now for my plate to go over to my new car so I can pick it up. Still it hasn't come through! Getting rather tetchy now! How long do they normally take to be swapped over?

6-8 weeks at busy times 4 normally but sometimes less if they are quiet.

I think the DVLA quote 6 weeks but I've changed my plate numerous times over the last few years and it usually comes through in around a week. I would expect it through soon.

I thought they usually quoted 10 to 12 working days? last time I did mine it was just a few days.

I find that if you send it Recorded delivery it comes back quicker... too late now i know but worth a try next time

I have always found that if you go to the local DVLA office, they will do the necessary change on the spot and you leave with the job all done.
