Default Clifford alarm question

Its been over 11 years since I had a car with a clifford and have just got one but i'm 11 years older and clueless

my keyfob has 4 buttons all marked * : lock/unlock : headlights : boot

but..........

what is this unmarked button?

Depends how it's programmed - the buttons can be changed to do what you want if you have the Cliffnet Wizard software and cable, perhaps through the valet switch too if you have the patience and manual to explain how to do it. I have * programmed as lock/unlock with beeps as my lock button does it silently and occasionally I want to hear the beeps. Afraid I can't remember what * does by default, maybe just a 'shift' key to be pressed with others at the same time, some combo switches the warn-away off, for example.

should have been clearer

in the manual it mentions an unmarked button

where is this, its not on the keyfob

Probably means the one on the valet switch. One has a */blob on it and the other is blank/unmarked.

Also some of the bigger remotes have 5 buttons, one extra to act as a(nother) shift key as described above. The fifth one might be unmarked?
