Now Ive got your attention my daughter has just bought a house and she and her friends are going to get together and strip all of the wallpaper off.
I was thinking of buying or hiring a steam wallpaper stripper. Are they any good, should i buy a cheap DIY one or hire an industrial jobby. The paper is Anaglypta type stuff.

I would hire one, youll find the B and Q efforts are not great, and youll only really need it once in a blue moon.
I wonder who will REALLY be stripping the wallpaper when the girls get bored?

I keep borrowing my uncle's Bosch steamer.
Works a treat.
The only thing I had to do to it last time I borrowed it is fix teh hose (kinked) and descale it (kept cutting out). Which is not bad considering its done probably five complete households in so many years.
It can run empty safely; It just cuts out and I refil it.
Tip; if you have a fast boil kettle (3KW) boil water in that first and fill the steamer with it. It'll get up and running much faster as the steamer takes longer to boil from cold. Also fill a trigger spray with water to pre-wet areas before steaming.

What are they doing/having done with this walls afterwards, if they are having it skimmed then scoring the paper before hand, and giving it a good soak beforehand helps a lot.
