Phone hacking..............whats the big deal?
If you buy those rags, what do you expect. Long lenses, chequebook stories, kiss and tell, taped conversations is it really such a big deal that they used the services of rather "dodgy" private investigators to get stories. I say dont buy those rags, then complain about how they get their "exclusives".
When it comes to the next election, no-one will give a toss.
Its the economy stupid.
Concentrate on what really matters.

these rags are what educate our nation - how else could you get million and millions to beleive such b*ullsh*it
what matters is dull and mundane in comparison to make believe stories where the world is your oyster mate
dont dis the mis-educating, lying, corrupt, money grabing media, its not on.

Yes. The phone hacking thing is not really a huge problem when it was a few celebrities who didn't change their default pin and certainly not 'hacking'.
However, with the case of the child and erasing messages it turns into something quite different.

I agree with Paul, it's no big deal compared to what other problems we have in the country at the moment.
And wasn't a lot of this fuss kicked up by Chris Bryant MP, aka Captian underpants, the man who did not like being exposed by the NOTW advertising for homosexual sex partners on a gay website.

Their morally devoid actions interfered with an ongoing police investigation of pretty much the most serious crime there is, distracting investigators and possibly giving the family false hope. I agree, prying into the personal shenanigans of those whom choose to live life in the public eye is trivial, but they went way beyond any reasonable level of decency, and must face the consequences of their actions.

The cynical deleting of messages off a young girls phone (to leave room for more) when she was dead – lying in a ditch, raped and murdered by a cvnt
And people think what’s the big deal!!!
Well it was a big deal – and that’s why 3 days after it was exposed - the NOW was binned, 10 days afterward Brooks was gone, then les hinton – and a whole pile of sh1te is landing on Murdoch’s door
Oh and to cap it all the Met knew all about it – but where just paid off
and ***** on here worry about the police enforcing speed limits
boy do we get what we deserve
Move – along nothing to see!!! fvck me what's wrong with this cvntry

While much of it is not a big deal some of the things they have done are just utterly unpalatable.
I have waited a long time for the British press to get their comeuppance as the majoirty of them are scum. Thing is while News International gets it in the neck the others are all sitting there quietly hoping it stops there ... I hope not as they are all as bad as each other.
The editor of one of the daily rags was on TV a couple of days ago saying that a clamp down on the press would be a bad thing as stories like the MP's expenses would be harder to break. Well firstly oh dear so you may have to work a bit harder rather than take the easy route to a story and secondly if you hadn't abused the privileges that the freedom of the press offered then you wouldn't need to be clamped down on would you now!

this country has been run by the media ie. the **** ones that print absolute bo11ox in the papers
The Star last week had the headline - Gigs' sex life is making his hair go grey
for gods sake
the papers have been in decline since mid-late 90s and they dont know why
partly due to the web
mostly due to cos they print ****
best paper at the mo is the i (cheap indipendent)

A large part of this story has been avoided due go misdirection.
One of the key elements of this is the payments to police for information.
OK - so bears **** in the woods - but if we really think that these things are OK then it is OK to accept we live in a morally corrupt society. Surely we should aspire to more than that.
As far as the News of the World is concerned - they lived by the sword and they died by that very same sword. Although you have to think they binned the NotW instead of sacking Brookes and she has now gone anyway.

As much as I destest him this is sadly the way British politics has become. If it were the other way round Cameron would do just the same. Ruinning the coutry is a game of political football to these ar5eholes, if you want proof of that watch a PMQ .... an more egotistical chest beating session of oneupmanship you are unlikely to find. They all make me sick!

Thing is we do live in a morally corrupt society as I have been saying for ages. A massive part of the population is morally bankrupt or even just completely bent. From people routinely defrauding the benefit system all the way to people thinking nothing of using pirated music/films/games the sense of right and wrong has completely shifted for many as is witnessed on here whenever we have a thread on illegal downloads for instance.

Of course not as I'm not gay, but if want to be in the public eye then you also have to accept that the press will expose you if you do anything wrong or out of the ordinary.
If you don't like it then don't do it. Simple as that.

Ex-vicar Bryant, 41, used the alias alfa101 on the Gaydar site, which gays use to contact each other.
He also sent obscene emails to a man he offered to meet for sex. One read: “I’d love a good, long f**k.”
His profile described himself as “horny as b***ery”.

You obviously think it is unimportant that these scum can hack into phone conversations in the hope of getting a story out of it regardless of the feelings of the victims. The action of deleting messages on Milly Dowler's phone was utterly disgraceful but that does not appear to worry you, despite the effect it had on the search when she went missing.
I agree with Hodgy and you would do well to think more deeply about the possible outcome of that sort of thing going on.
Why is that slimy media chief debasing himself with public apologies do you think-is he running scared of the possible consequencies? Why are his execs. jumping ship I wonder!
Even he can see the problems which are doubtless mounting up for him...I hope they all come home to roost too.
Of course Millimetre is being opportunistic, but what he is saying is generally correct.
