Remember that car accident I had?
A few months ago?
Since that accident I complained that there was something wrong with the handling from the rear of my car. After getting the car repaired I was still convinced that something felt pretty wrong but the repair garage said they couldn't find anything wrong with the car.
Fast Forward to this week and the car goes in for MOT and it fails due to one of the rear shocks being completely bust! Not worn but apparently wrecked. As the car was repaired over 4months ago do I have a leg to stand on with getting help towards paying for the repair?

Get it back to the repairers, contact the Insurance Company who paid for the repair and state that you will be seeking full and complete compensation or the County Court will decide.

Good luck, but shocks can go anytime else you would have to prove otherwise.
Just diy it, have a look at this link, it's a 156, but the same process and I think the same size tooling.

You could persue it with the people who did the work, but they might tell you to get lost.
Good luck getting it sorted.

Thats just wear and tear, its an old car and shocks have a finite life, they degrade but it is quite imperceptible and part of why new cars feel better, a new set of shocks usually transforms an older car with some mileage on.

I see where you lot are coming from and I actually agree with you but it is odd that the handling at the rear completely degraded at the exact time some old duffer drove into the back of me.

Is the shocker physically bent or mechanically broken. If it is you might well have a case for claiming for it. Have you spoken meaningfully to the garage which said it was all serviceable?

Its all sorted now, should be picking the car up tomorrow.
On another note, Eurocarparts are tossers! Will never use them again, their sales reps are liars and their delivery guys have ****ty attitudes.
