My Aunt has a form of dementia and started 'wandering' last year, so my heart goes out to the family. Have shared it on facebook

it seems stupid, but it's amazing what facebook groups can do these days - perhaps the family could set up a group on there. It is amazing how many people join/ try to help, and you never know it might get to that one person who has the answer![Thumb](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/thumb.gif)
Maybe get a few more photos up, description of what she might have been wearing, more info on her 'favourite' places she normally goes?

I lost my father to alzheimers in 2007. He would frequently wander off and I would get a call from my mum to tell me dad was missing. My folks only lived a few miles from where my dad had grown up. He would often have episodes of living in the past. I would always locate my dad in the same places, the areas where he had grown up, the street he had lived in as a child, near his old school, the parks where he played as a child.
The mind is a strange thing, but I always found that by knowing my dad well and knowing what was on his mind at the time he wandered off was enough to enable me to locate him safely.
I don't know if this adds anything of worth to the thread, but I know only too well, just how much concern, worry and stress this caused my mum, and some of the lengths she went to just to ensure my dad couldn't wander out of the house during the night while she was asleep.
Can only hope for a successful outcome to this one.

My Grandad had alzheimers a couple of years back and because my Grandma was in a home (advanced alzheimers) he would often go out looking for her. On one occasion his care worker arrived to get him his breakfast but his bed hadn't been slept in. Long story short, after a Police Helicopter and a bunch of Dogs, he was found in the back garden of a house a couple of doors up having passed away during the night.
As horrible as it was, when he passed, he was still more or less the person who i had grown up with - my Grandma on the other hand is still alive but the person i once knew has long since left
