So who has asked for a retweet on Twitter?

So who has asked for a retweet on Twitter?
Quite enjoy reading Twitter for insight on other people's lives. Seen some really interesting things off the likes of Jonathan Agnew, Jenson Button, Webber, golfers and people generally in the public spotlight.
However people who ask for a retweet are doing my head in, how utterly pathetic. Some people seem desperate to have their moment with a celeb.
Anyone prepared to admit they have?
Or is being on Twitter at all a cardinal sin?

WTF is a retweet?
Why anyone would like to sit and read that some Celebrity t.w.a.t. is eating a Ham sandwich is beyond me? Seriously, have you nothing better to do?

I don't see what the fuss is with twitter, the tone in which people raved on about it.Must be missing something as i haven't visited the site for many many months.

I can understand you point of view even if made fairly poorly, it is is full of useless information but that is not why I look. We all spend time doing things someone else would say is a waste. I wasn't posting about that though.
I like the insight, for example during the Ryder Cup some of the posts from players were genuinely interesting for a golf fan/fanatic like me. Watching Tiger Woods and Phil Mickleson (two men who are supposed to hate each other) playing table tennis and joking around with some of the Europeans was an insight no other media outlet could offer me. That's only one of the top of my head.

I was ultra cynical re twitter then realised (business wise) just how invaluable it is....helped me get ahead a great deal Helped my wife's business too (self employed).
Superb
However, totally agree about the saddos asking for a retweet although some of the causes (charitable etc) seem worthwhile.

Twitter is an awesome resource, have a problem with something search twitter and for sure someone else is bitching about it. Was that an Earthquake, twitter will tell you. Space Station due over head, twitter.
I don't think I follow anyone who posts dross or at least I don't see it, just information relevant to my interests.
Use something like Flipboard to read it and it becomes an nice looking magazine.

I have never used Twit ter but at a rough guess I would thing a retweet is another user forwarding a tweet/post from someone else so that more people could see it who are not friends of the original Twit, but could be wrong.

The problem is that everyone re tweets the same thing so you have to read the same thing 20 or 30 times.

Don't think I will bother with it anyway, got enough to occupy myself here.
