Default optoma 3dxl

Has anyone upgraded the firmware on thier projector and bought one of these 3d boxes or is anyone using one? I'm soo tempted to buy one.

no but my dad is thinking about one for his cinema, let me know how it goes if you get one. it might twist his arm in getting one

I wouldn't bother. It's a compromise and the results reported so far are average at best!

No, but have read a good deal about 3D recently and have a mate in the AV industry.

This technology is a compromise and he reported finding the demo he attended very average. He also said that you tire watching it as your eyes and brain are having to work a lot harder to 'create the 3D experience' compared to more complex (and admittedly expensive) technologies.

i thought was only down to passive not active?

This system is active too


i have active shutter glasses and never had a problem.

If you bought a projector and the 3d xl, its in the same budget as many 3d tv's so my only assumption by expensive technologies is the way cinemas show 3d so by that theory they all tire your eyes and I thought everyone would know that.
