Footballer David Beckham's famous injured foot was still intact after the player was reportedly involved in a car accident in his top-of-the-range Mercedes.
The crash happened on a "blind bend" in Hertfordshire, say reports.
Beckham - currently recovering from a broken foot - was uninjured as was the other driver, reportedly an off-duty policeman.

I don't think he crashed his car for media attention

Bloody hell!
Listen to you all! - He's crashed his car, as I'm sure many people who visit Scoobynet have (crashed their own cars not his ).
I'm not particularly a fan of DB (I'm a Liverpool supporter ), but I think you lot are being a little unfair!
Andy.

WOW!!!!
Driving with a broken foot in plaster and you want us to feel sorry for him????
STUPID springs to mind!!!
I am sure it would have been different if someone had been killed especially a family.
Let us hope Beckham and other people take learning from this!!!!!

I am talking about the plaster which may have got in the way? A friend of mine is *disabled* (I really hate that word) and drives an automatic.......she had an accident because her left foot twitched onto the brake as she went round a corner and caused the car to spin. The doctors then had to look at what they could do to prevent this from happening in the future........they came up with a solution and she is back driving again after she managed to build her confidence up again.
As well as that, isn't Beckham trying to recover for the World Cup? In all honesty, I think settling down and just trying to get better rather than try to do things as he did before?
I make a comment solely directed at Beckham and all of a sudden I am criticising ALL drivers of automatics???? Try, no I am not! Where exactly did I say that???????
I most certainly wouldn't consider driving whilst encased in a massive plaster and knowing I have to be fit and ready for the World Cup!!!!!!!!!

He hasnt got a plaster, he wears a special boot (no its not orthopaedic), a bit like a skiing boot.
Cant believe u guys slaughtering him so much, do u even like football??
Anyway i broke both the bones in my leg and didnt have a plaster either, i got a nice titanium rod and screws, ouch, and a beautiful zimmer frame for two weeks until the torn ligaments started to heel and i then upgraded to the ally crutches, how fashionable.

Okay, but it is rather cumbersome don't you agree, possibly a little bit awkward to drive maybe?????
I didn't drive my car for 3 months after my major accident till the doctors cleared me - you couldn't see why I couldn't drive as they did not put anything on my shoulder.....it would have been dangerous for me to drive as my strangth in my shoulder was compromised for a while.
I am a Villa fan (real football fan ), I do support England but to hype Beckham up to the point that he is hyped up now is ridiculous.

Michelle u have my sympathies, it cant be easy losing gregory only to replace him with a turnip , Darius is a must to start alongside Owen, I remember seeing him play for Villa against Inter when he was about 17, he scored a couple that night and looked very very tasty, where did he go to for the next 4 seasons??.
Top player and looking foward to him pulling on the white shirt of england.
Roll on June

Michelle he's not out in the Ferrari because that’s at his Cheshire home.
As for all the fuss about him driving, if he has had permission to drive an auto from his doctor, insurance and the club he is doing nothing wrong and this is a big fuss over nothing.
I don’t know the full details on the accident and don’t care much either, we all have our opinions but if he has had permission to drive it's just another accident and another stat.
Michelle the other thing is you cant compare a shoulder injury to a left foot injury as you drive with both hands in any car but only the right foot in an auto.
Daz.

"He had his Doctors Permission"....... So do lots of old folk ,who cause havoc on the roads. They should have known better.
I know That I could not drive an auto with that boot thing on. Bet you would all be having a go if he had hit a child....

LOL @ Notorious Rev
Please people until you know the facts stop all this speculation, how can you pass comment on hearsay???
FWIW I think the Beckhams are no different to many of us on here, maybe slightly less brainy but pretty ordinary considering their extraordinary fame. If I was extremely wealthy and good looking I'd probably live my life in a similar way to them, fast cars, nice homes, top clothes, who wouldn't? They don't have staff, nannies and a massive entourage of people running around after them, ok I realise they enjoy their fame but who wouldn't? Well me for one, I'd hate it but for gods sake live and let live, what have they ever done to harm anyone on here that warrants such a vicious outburst?
If I had a broken bone and my doc said I was ok to drive I would, bet you'd all do the same too...

There is no problem driving an automatic with one foot. My Dad has had automatics for years and I've driven many of them. There would be plenty of room to rest your foot (especially in something the size of an S class Merc). With the best will in the world, you can't expect the bloke to sit around the house for eight weeks - he'll go nuts!
I would agree with Sal here that some of the 'knee-jerk' reactions and comments on this thread border on the ridiculous
