Silver hallmarks?
Hi,
Can anyone here decipher hallmarks on silver articles?
I had a quick google, but information is a little contradictory and frankly Im not sure waht to make of it.
Sorry for the rubbish pic....
Leftmost stamp is "A.H.", then perhaps a thistle? then a lion or similar and finally a letter "h".
Thanks,

a h = makers mark
thistle = edinburgh
lion == standard mark for silver
h = year letter

This is where things get confusing.....
If it IS a thistle, then the AH refers to the maker Alexander Henderson, and the "h" would imply 1813. however, looking at the sites, the thistle looks much more like a boat anchor, which would suggest a birmingham stamp, but there is no A.H. makers in birmingham, and if it is birmingham, the "h" is either 1805 or 1907.
Need to find a proper expert, I suppose.
