Woops, alcohol intake a BIT high..
Made a pizza for tea tonight, added garlic granules, some fresh tomato, fresh mushroom and extra cheese to a shop bought Pizza Royale.
It was nice, so I opened a bottle of halfway decent Cotes du Rhone. "Les Roches Rouges", supermarket plonk at it's best 14.5% abv.
However, having noshed the whole pizza, I now notice that there is only an inch of red wine remaining, and it's in my glass LOL
And before that I had a large Pernod, with another here in another glass in front of me.
Am I drinking too much?

Well, going by my experience when last in France, if your not half soaked by about 4pm then you are not drinking enough!
Enjoy! The pizza sounds fab

Aglass of red wine a day is said tobe good for you. Think of the days when you were a baby, a child or didn't have that glass of wine. You may find you have some catching up to do.

Just sit back and enjoy the whole thing, after all that incredibly complicated cooking, you deserve it.
I bet that wine cost over a fiver a bottle too!

How much did you splash out on the Cote du Rhone? We've had a decent CdR from ED when in France and that was quite pricey - worked out about £1.15 a bottle

The wines was supermarket stuff at it's best. It's called "Les Roches Rouges", and is from near Avignon, won a silver medal at the wine fest at Orange this year, sells for €3 a bottle.
My other fave at the mo is another supermarket special, La Campagne Perchee, also CDR, and is €3.60 a bottle.
The thing about supermarket wine IN FRANCE is that you knwo it'll be decent, and some is outstanding for the price, because if it wasn't, THE FRENCH WOULD TAKE IT BACK!

Num Num - Love Grappa - the proper stuff that is.
Absinthe - now I save THAT for the weekends, I have the most colourful dreams after a couple of glasses with water / spoon / sugar.

Lol your paying a fortune in france, i buy my neighbours wine £1.00 a litre and less if i get it 50litres at a time but iv'e not bothered buying a barrel as if i do that my consumption would increase way beyond what i'm comfortable with. his red is merlot terran mix the one i like, but i can buy either individually, and his white is pinot muscat, both are sublime and it's impossible to get a headache as they don't use preservatives or chemicals, and another neighbour makes the best muscat that people travel for miles to buy,and is famous for it's ability to make the ladies horny after a couple of glasses
