The Chinese are ...

The Chinese are ...
... just as morally bankrupt as we are in the West as this footage shows.
A 2 year old girl is knocked down in the market by a van, is left in the road - passers by ignore her bloodied body and then another van runs over her without stopping too.
I always thought the chinese were somehow more compassionate than other races ... maybe their 'westernisation' has brought with it the wests lack of care for each other too?

They are not scum
The Chinese and others have a very different view of "Life" to us westerners.
It's the norm over there. Doesn't make it right in our eyes, but it's the norm.

But neither would this ...
There is another aspect to the story:
From the BBC.
How many injured toddlers a month could you afford to help if judges deem you responsible for their medical costs?

This is really sad news, I was really hoping if by some miracle that she would be able to pull through, but I guess the broken body of a 2 year old can only take so much. A child will unconditionally put all their trust in to you, all their love and attention and are always forgiving of you, which is why it is so heartbreaking that not one person lifted a finger to help her until it was far too late. RIP
ps. not all Chinese are as heartless and callous some like to believe, the millions expressing their outrage and questions raised by their media is proof of this.

Don't think so. If it was the norm then it wouldn't be the only thing they are talking about in China, as reported on Beeb News tonight. They may have different attitudes, but their national concern suggests all is not lost.

Is there not a law that states you must help a injured person:-
"A duty to rescue is a concept in tort law that arises in a number of cases, describing a circumstance in which a party can be held liable for failing to come to the rescue of another party in peril."
Its at the end of the day, the humane thing to do which 99% of us would do in autopilot without batting a eyelid.
For all we moan about our country going down the toilet. I am glad my family and myself live here.
