I'm registered as a user. Never had to supply CC details though??
I sadly use AOL - don't know if thats got anything to do with it.
I only buy - I don't try to understand.
Cheers

Hi.....i'm a registered user and have been for about three years.Basically they need your credit card details for payment and IMO its perfectly safe.Once a sale has been made, they send you a receipt and charge the money to your credit card. All done automatically.
I've never had any problem with this,my only problem with e-bay is the authenticity of some of the stuff on there.
BTW,i've only ever sold stuff, never bought anything.

Ive been on ebay for several years, never had a problem.
Because i use a web based email service i too had to provide card details (prevents bidding for items and not carrying out transaction, payment of ebay fees for selling etc).
Have never had a problem, highly recommended.

E-bay have a fraud protection programme who look into any problems, like not recieving the goods after payment. This only works for items over £15 though. Also the site gives a profile of previous transactions with the seller your interested in, so if others have had problems, this information should be made available to you.
Should'nt worry about the credit card as all transactions made on them are guaranteed anyway. Most of the sellers don't have the option of taking creditcard payments, so cheque etc is the norm.
hope this helps.
PS
don't bid till the last minute, keeps the price down.
