F1 for £10 a month for freeview customers and supposidly free for Sky customers, even if you don't have sports and movie packages.

Does quite match with what the Sky twitter feed is saying.

Virgin and BT are unknown at this time and absolutely not on Freeview

The new channel is set to run for three days over the course of a race weekend. The service will include live coverage of all three practice sessions as well as qualifying and the race – and it will also host an F1 legends programme.
Doesn't seem to be a very good deal to me. But I can watch all the races for free on German TV so what do I care

Sorry, but think that is the usual Daily Mail spin i.e. lies. Doing that would not give Sky the revenue they are after as they want to leverage people like me who don't have Sky Sports as I can't be bothered with football and rugbyetc. into buying a Sky Sports subscription.
I hope I'm wrong, but it doesn't seem logical from Sky's perspective!

So it's £10 a month? No thank you.
Plus, it's only for BT and Virgin customers? Is that right? I have a Humax, so couldn't get it even if I wanted it. Or could i?
Personally, I won't be watching F1 from next year. never missed a race in over 20 years. Only getting to watch half a season, plus half a seasons highlights is no good to me.
What a load of Bollox

Here's the BBC coverage details for 2012:
http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/form...e/15893254.stm
Not sure Sky is really needed to be frank unless you are an avid fan.
10 live races and the rest on delayed extended highlights.

What would happen if enough people decided to boycott paying to make it no longer worthwhile for $ky to host?
Would they do what Fox does? Where if the viewing numbers for a program start to drop it famously pulls the plug?
If so what then?
I'd assume it would instantly devalue the sport, thereby making it more viable for future channels to host it for free?

I'm very surprised Brundle has jumped ship and gone to sky. But good on Jake Humpreys for standing his ground and staying with the BBC.
However, this doesn't change a thing. I will not watch the Formula 1 on sky. Under any circumstances.

I think its time for us as a nation to tell sky and other corporations like them which try to corner the market and force their services on us, to **** right off.

I have hd already so I'll be watching, I wouldn't have paid though. A dedicated channel for three days should make it interesting. Wonder who'll take over from Brundle on the BBC, DC not ready to head it up that's for sure.

Don't watch from the outset and the viewing figures will be rubbish, the lower the viewing figures, the sooner sky will drop it.
Do not watch. Under any circumstances and we will get back free to air Formula 1.

I have no intention of buying into Sky. I get stopped every few months by someone selling Sky and ask if I have it. The answer is alway no and it will stay that way as long as they charge AND have adverts.

I can see why Brundle jumped to sky. He wants to comment on `every race` live. Sky will allow (and pay) him to do what he loves doing every other Sunday. It's a shame the JH didn't jump ship too, as I think he has been the best F1 presenter so far.
As the BBC gave him his break, I can see why he stayed. Loyalty. However, when the BBC gets sick of F1 after more and more fans turn off, they will dump F1. JH will be left in limbo, probably presenting Athletics once a year.

I'm of the other opinion.

Anyone know which way Coulthard is looking? I'd prefer listening to him than Brundle. The more considered approach.

I am willing to go further. I actually have access to sky, but if I watch it, I will be contributing to their viewing figures. This will re-enforce the belief that Sky's bully boy, rinse em for everything they got tactics are working.
