Hi folks,
What would you suggest? I've tried the sharpening stone and oil but I'm rubbish at it.
Bought one of these
http://www.niton999.co.uk/shop/produ...ode_AA323.html
but it's not really doing the job.
My kitchen scissors wouldn't even cut open a bag of chips the other night!
Cheers

A Swedish Tormek whetstone with leather honing wheel is the Rolls Royce answer but quite expensive and you need to know how to use them properly. Hardly worth it for just a few knives now and again.
I have used a variety of things and actually found that the sort in your link was the best of all.
Re scissors - do check that the middle screw is tight as this makes all the difference.

I use a stone and a steel but if you want an all round sharpener try one of these:

+1 on the anysharp, quick and easy but it'll wear through your knives faster, i wouldn't use anything too nice on it.
