Not broken ankle but hernia operation 5 weeks ago and I think the inserted mesh may need to come out. Given I have sat around since the op I thought a walk today would help , but my left hip joint has flared up and I see no alternative but a hip replacement.
To top it all my girl friend - no she's not 60 , has done her back in .
A result of her and my injuries , getting the respective hard and wet bits in the right position has been a challenge to say the least .

Never could understand this one. I broke my right leg just above the ankle playing footie when I was about 12. Both bones went. Was in a thigh-length plaster for 11 weeks. Many moons later I broke the right femur when in a car accident. Both times the doctors and nurses said, 'you'll feel it when it's cold'. I've not felt one bit of discomfort, no matter what the temperature is. And as I love skiing you'd think I would have. Hmm .......

All I know is that at times when the weather is cold, sometimes my left ankle has discomfort and the right one doesn't.

dude i was much only slightly lighter than than you. spiral fracture of the tibia and broken ankle. doc said if i had been lighter it might not have been as bad. 6 inch internal fixator in my leg now. get off the tramadol as soon as possible dude. you will be high as a kite for 10 weeks and you will lose a load of weight, try and keep it off. no driving with the half cast on either. that will invalidate your insurance.

Snapped ACL and PCL and bloody great hole in the cartilage in one knee; three surgeries so far...stem cell next to try and prolong the life of that one. Just cartilage on the other leg so far.

At least its not bad break...otherwise you'd be stuck in hospital awaiting for it to be operated and pinned.
My dad did a potts fracture....Some idiot in A&E admissions thought it was a sprain so put him on low priority for x-ray. 6 hours its finally x-rayed, by which time later its swollen twice its size, and the x-ray comes back saying his ankle is foobared and needs operating ASAP.
Cue one very pissed off Orthopedic surgeon who can't do their job due to the swelling because of the juniors that ****ed up.
Not only that, the orthopedic ward was full, so they stuck him in the geriatric nutter ward next door. Which seems quiet in the day but turns into a cross between the Benny Hill show and Gothika at night. One month stuck in a hell hole with zero sleep due to the nutters screaming and running amuck!
Still, the silly sod would have learnt...he broke his ankles three times over his life (one crushed under a dumper truck, one slipping and falling on the drive and another jumping off a boat)!
My advice - get more vitamin D (adcal D ) inside you and lose some weight!
