For the past month I've been waiting on a phonecall regarding a job I'd really like and I got a voicemail yesterday evening asking to call today to discuss the roll. Only problem is that as from last night, I've lost my voice and cannot speak at all!
I had similar just before Christmas with a chest infection giving me a James Earl Jones voice. We had a good laugh (and cough on my part) and rescheduled fpr the new year.
I bit the bullet and rang, luckily he was very kind and told me to rest the voice for a few days and call in to their office next week for a tour and general guide through what the job entails! Excellent!!!!
It's a no brainer, don't call them until you have fully recovered 100%, should take at least two weeks. Fancy them calling you in the evening! The evening is your time, is working in the evening expected from you? Let them sweat it out, treat them mean to keep them keen and what not.

Excellent result lad - now get rid of the Italian rust bucket before it gets you fired!! New boss wont like you being late cos the car wont start, brakes failed, engine blew up etc etc etc.

Given that my new boss up until a few years ago was head of the Service Department for a Alfa Romeo dealership and that the interview mostly consisted of him talking about his absolute love for the brand, I think I'll be safe if the Alfa Gremlins start their work.
BUT since I now will be working approx 10miles from home, I have been lurking around the classified for a classic scooby, something I couldn't have done driving and parking in Belfast!
