Is there such a thing as a good sofa bed?

Work on the Man-cave is pretty much going to start soon and first on my list is a Sofa-bed. Can a sofabed be bought that is actually good at being a sofa? Not a huge budget either, approx 300 to spend but the less I spent on the sofa the more I can spent on other man-cave items.
The main aim of this room with be for watching movies once I buy a projector so a comfy sofa is a must, I have no choice but to get a sofa bed as my other halfs friend stays over every so often.

Honestly mate for £300 you Might be able to get a trampoline base with a foam mattress. For something more bed like you are climbing 5-600 plus. All I would say from my experience ( I used to work for one of the major Arthur Xmas ones) and you won't get a comfortable sofa/bed. Kinda one or the other. Bed or sofa. That said they aren't all bad but you need to dig down the pocket

We got a decent one which we use as sofa in lounge which is good. This is a double and bloody heavy to move around and storing actual bedding is a pain. But comfortable and easy to erect. About £700 IIRC. dl

Jamz - at £300 you need to go used to get something of decent quality. I bought one of these with a hardwood frame recently for the kitchen, like you I would have expected to be paying around £300. I saw little change back out of £900. I bought a top notch king size bed and mattres for under £600 last year which is much more comfortable to lie on than the sofa bed.
To be honest it is very comfortable to sit on, I have spend an entire day sat on it witout becoming uncomfortable. Check the space you have as if you can't fit a double bed into your man cave, I doubt you will get a decent sofa bed in there.

When did things start getting so goddamn expensive. I had a look there on Ikea and 300quid gets you the biggest pile of dung ever!
Just gonna buy a sofa as I'm reluctant to spend more than £300 on something that does two things but neither that well.

We've had a SofaSofa sofabed for about 10 years and it's been fine. It might not be the last word in comfort, but it's still in one piece even after years of abuse from my heavy ***, 2 kids and several cats. Until the kids are a bit older and the cat has gone, we ain't replacing it.
