What happens? Yes you guessed it, the Indians agree a deal with the French to buy the Raphael fighter rather than the Typhoon.

So just how much do you know about trade between India and the UK excluding what you may have read today about the fighter craft deal?

This explanation is this: -

1) The Indian Govt are so corrupt that help does not actually reach starving kids

2) UK aid does reach the kids, or so they say. Kids are not responsible for corruption.

3) UK is seen in a better light if we help which may increase our chances of gaining business such as the fighter contract.

4) The French probably pass fatter brown envelopes that we do.

The French only give £18m of aid each year.
We give £280m each year.

India spends £20bn on defence.....

The French haven't actually got the contract yet - they're just the preferred bidder.
