Doubt, it. There are too many vested interests in 'alternative' energy sources now.

We should get fracking in Lancashire ASAP and become self sufficient in cheap, clean gas.

Looks like he may have to ride a bike for a while - that'll reduce his carbon footprint.

Well at least he dumped her for another woman which is odd for a Liberal

Before he was in the cabinet I had a few e-mail exchanges with him about CO2 emissions. Not really interested in what I had to say and I got the impression that his interest is mostly himself.

What a serious situation to get into I know-erm heard allegedly that many have done this trick before. But you don't go emailing the other party over the matter.

Mums the word and never on anything electronic- you don't know who is listening, watching

What a crock.

SOMEONE has paid the fine and got the points.

Is this REALLY worth spending £1000's on to prosecute the guy? ReallY?

Apparently, both parties - the perp. and the accomp. - can go to jail for this particular PtCoJ offence (should the judge deem it appropriate).

He lied to the Police, and broke the law in doing so, so yes it worth prosecuting. Or is that acceptable behaviour where you come from?

That he is an hysterical warmist is just the icing on the cake of course.

No not at all and I'm sure a few other people out there have done this as well though I personally would never dream of doing something like that

Reading between the lines, it appears his wife recorded a conversation about the matter and the police have a copy - what a facking psycho.

You can and will get away with it if the other person doesn't decide to go to the Police / papers and say that they lied.

Which as this case goes to show (at the moment anyway) that doesn't really do you any good as unless you can prove you were threatened to take the points and lie you too are perverting the course of justice.

i was making a more general point on the hubris of power boxst

but on the more specific point, yes true, but you need to have requested a pic first -- afterall if you claim your wife was driving and the gasto pic clearly shows a 6ft brick -layer at the wheel-- the police may raise and eyebrow or two

but i would imagine the police have pretty good evidence, and his wife was said to be at a party in south london at the time anyway

it's the mock indignation they pretend to have -- he said he was "disspointed in the CPS's decision", WFT -- they have some sort of evidence otherwise they would not bother, why should he be any different

Why should HE be any different?

THINK man: he's an MP, in fact not JUST an MP, he's a minister!

HE should be exempt, after all, don't they all preach "Do as I say, not as I do!"?

The CPS would say so because it is the probity and integrity of the justice system which is at stake. Same reason that daft woman juror was jailed for googling stuff on the case. It sends a strong message that the justice process must not be ****ed with basically.

Yes they must have pretty good evidence otherwise it would just be a case of him or his wife could lie and there would be no reasonable evidence to say which one was driving. In the case where no driver can be proved he gets off the charge.

He seems to be committed to maintain his innocence. I guess he has started the process and feels maybe he has no choice to to continue the strategy. He can lie with a straight face for sure.

Oh, and make sure that he has to personally fund the surcharge to pay the subsidy to build more useless turbines whilst he sits in his freezing cell (with just one CFL darkbulb)
