Going to get a new Sky+ HD 1TB box as the old Sky+HD is getting temperamental but the hard drive is nearly full and don't want to lose it all, can I just plug the old box into the TV after the change over and watch the recorded programs off the hard drive ???

dont quote me , but i dont think so. I seem to remember when i was doing up my living room i had my whole system sitting in the hall. But when i tried to watch a stored film (without Sky cable connected) i dont think it worked. Might do , if the cables are wired though ?

last i heard the new sky HD 1tb boxes run a different system which copy+ wouldnt touch
i gave up with my old box when i did a similar move, just flogged it on after wiping it
u will need a valid card in the box to use Sky+ stuff afaik, never tried viewing stuff on the planner after the cards been removed mind.
should be easy to test, just rip the viewing card outta yer old box and then see if u can view planner stuff
