You don't have to be a royalist to appreciate a lifetime dedication to a job she didn't actually ask for. Congratulations indeed.

If it were any other job, they'd be out to pasture by now. 60 years is a good innings though.

Well done Mrs Queen - subjecting a nation of 60 million people for 60 years purely by accident of birth!

What would you rather be - citizen or subject?

The Queen is a fine ambassador for Britain, her offspring (Anne excepted) on the other hand....

Anyway well done your Majesty

You have to admire her dignity and for keeping her cool for 60 years. So well done gal.

But I geniuinely think she should retire gracefully while she is healthy and the Greek looks like he could do with putting his feet up

My pal's dad went to visit the White House as a tourist (a long time ago) and Kennedy came out of his office and had a chat. The old boy thought this was quite usual

Yeh but thats probably mostly down to dumb *** women who believe Paris is such a romantic place and men who are dumb enough not to correct them and take them there anyway.

Congrats to the queen, fine effort.

That is an assertion - where is the proof? You may be right, but you may not be.

The key issues are: -

What does the Queen really cost?

What revenue does she create?

How much of that revenue is linked to British heritage rather than the current queen?

What revenue would an alternative create?
