Funny have to say I think I drove me scooby slower than most off all the other cars I have owned in my time !! if that was down to knowing how quick the petrol disappeared or just knowing it was quick without having to prove it all the time I dont know !!

I would have thought that it would be anything being driven between 8am and 9am by a school mum doing the school run

I can see a definite psychological link between perceived arrogance of the owners of certain vehicles and their frequency of speeding offences there.

Yeah but what are crashed disproportionately?

If we are to believe the Insurers, Scoobs are very likely to be crashed?

Yep nothing like 2 tons, 4x4, stability/traction control, lots of grip etc to give a false sense of confidence.

I see it all the time here.

Incredible isn't it, either as thick as the proverbial or just no respect!

In the end the speeding bit is all down to your right foot!

Brilliant

£106 for a 911 front brake disc

And there's the 106GTi again - as good a performer, if not better than the 911 in the tests

We used to be able to get those good old Anglias to go surprising fast and also some work on the suspension would also make them handle very well. It was all good fun anyway!

It has to be remembered that Clarkson by his own admission is rubbish at car control and of course he was trying to prove his point anyway.

I thought that the old highway code included an additional distance in the stopping distance to allow for the reaction time of the driver.

No surprises about this part either:

SUVs and people carriers feature heavily in the research with drivers of the Ford Galaxy, BMW X5 and Mercedes-Benz ML most likely to be caught gassing on their mobile phones while driving - 1.94%, 1.77% and 1.63% of drivers got caught, respectively.

Now if they handed out points for failing to indicate ...

According to Confused.com, the eighth most likely car you'll see streaking by you in excess of the speed limit is the MINI Cooper D. 19% of all Cooper D drivers having been caught pushing the boundaries of legal speed on the UK's roads.

funny that as i do often see mini coopers speeding along in the fastlane.
