Whitney Houston dead
#2
The mrs and i were only saying about midnight after seeing Dionne Warwick on the box, how Whitney was looking ill / bad, and after seeing the pics of her in the paper
Doesnt surprise me that she has died
her dabbling in drugs and booze was prolly a big contributing factor

A very sad loss indeed. An absolutely stunning voice.
Like many I didn't realise she was only 48
Bloody drugs/booze (assuming they were responsible).

Very sad that someone so talented leaves before there time.
Never a fan but no denying she had a special voice, meeting Bobby Brown didn't do her any favours.

Yep, very talented indeed.
I remember hearing her record somewhere in London in the 90s, and my head involuntaily turned to follow the sound. In a mesmerised state, I asked my companion, "Who is this singing like an angel????" I was told that it was an American singer called Whitney Houston. I had experienced this goosepimplish and magnetic reaction with only two other female vocalists i.e. Elaine Paige in Barbican and Adele; up to today's date. Amy W. was also fantastic, but I had to get used to her voice, although her lyrics took no time to draw me in.
However, after being introduced to W.H. sound out there somewhere in Islington arrived the CDS and the Bodyguard DVD to me in no time.
A tribute to Ms. W. Houston with her own angelic voice:

Very sorry to hear about it. She had the most wonderful voice and the real talent to be able to use it to the best advantage.
It should of course be a warning of the dangers caused by the use of booze/drugs etc. Too easy to get sucked in.
It is regrettable to see the inept attempts at making jokes about someone's death.
